Sixty Degrees is managed by a professional and multidisciplinary team with vast experience in the asset management industry. Some of its members have won several awards by Morningstar and the Portuguese Investment Fund, Pension and Asset Association (APFIPP) for both equity and fixed income mandates.

Alexandre Relvas

Partner

Alexandre has a solid background in the securities and real estate asset management field. He founded Interfinança and Gerifirme, companies that have since been integrated into Millennium BCP and BPI, as well as Norfin. He was the CEO of the Logoplaste Group from 1996 to 2016 and is currently a non-executive board member and shareholder. He is also an entrepreneur in the agriculture and hotel sectors. From 1991 to 1995 he was Secretary of State for Tourism in the Portuguese government. Alexandre has a degree in Business Management and Administration from Universidade Católica Portuguesa.

António Mello Vieira

Partner / Risk Management and Compliance

For the last 30 years, António has been working almost exclusively in the asset management industry, with management positions in Operations, Quality Control, Compliance, Pricing, Reporting and Operational Risk for the BPI Group. Between 2015 and 2018, he was the Managing Director / Conducting Officer at the Luxembourg based BPI Global Investment Fund Management Company, with responsibilities in corporate governance and the implementation of the company's strategies and guiding principles. He was also responsible for the implementation of the Cross-Border sales project, internal control mechanisms, technical infrastructure, contracting and control of service providers, control of audit processes and human resources required for the Company's activity.

Emídio Pinheiro

Chairman of the Board of Directors

Emídio has a degree in Economics from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and an MBA from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. The banking sector has been the challenge of his life. For 25 years, he has worked for the BPI Group as general manager and CEO for several organisations, particularly between 2005 and 2016, when he was the CEO of Banco de Fomento Angola, which is the second-largest, the sturdiest and most profitable Angolan private bank. During his career, he has had the chance to launch and set up pioneering projects, lead multicultural teams and gather deep knowledge of the banking sector and financial services, business transformation and change management.

Filipe Bissaia Barreto

Partner / Investment Advice

Filipe has been working in financial markets for almost 30 years, 24 of which spent exclusively at BPI Gestão de Ativos. During his career, he has been invited to join investment committees at BPI Suisse and at Banco BPI. From 2011 and 2017, he led the fixed income team at BPI Gestão de Ativos.

Partner

Filipe began his career in the financial sector and was the representative in Portugal for several international banks. He was also a founder and member of the board of Interfinança, a private bank sold to Millennium BCP, of Fonsecas & Burnay, an asset management company, today part of the BPI Group, of Norfin and Invesfin. He is currently Chairman of Logoplaste, a company he founded with his father in 1976. He became the CEO in 1991. Filipe is also a shareholder and board member in companies in the hotel sector (hotels in Brazil and Portugal), ice cream production and distribution (Santini), wine (Logowines), ceramics (Mesacer) and blueberries (Carsol Fruit Portugal). He has a degree in Business Management and Administration from Faculdade de Ciências Económicas e Empresariais da Universidade Católica Portuguesa.

José Veiga Sarmento

Chairman of the Risk and Internal Control Committee

José has a professional career dedicated to the financial sector with a focus on the asset management industry. Graduated in Economics from the Instituto Superior de Economia and CSE from the École Nationale de Administration (Paris), he held several management positions in companies of the BPI Group, highlighting the period of 2002-2016 during which he was Board Member of both BPI Gestão de Activos - Sociedade Gestora de Organismos de Investimento Coletivo SA and BPI Vida e Pensões - Companhia de Seguros SA. In the latter, he also held the position of CEO during the 2014-2016 triennium. From 2010 to 2020, José was President of APFIPP - Portuguese Fund and Asset Management Association.

Nuno Sousa Pereira, CFA

Partner / Chief Executive Officer

Nuno has 12 years of professional experience in financial markets. After graduating from his Civil Engineering Masters at Lisbon’s Instituto Superior Técnico, he began working at BPI Gestão de Ativos and was a member of the team that launched BPI Africa, a specialized African equities fund. Later, he was assigned as an assistant manager for multi-asset portfolios and, after that, portfolio manager for bond funds (2011). Not neglecting his academic training, Nuno completed the Master in Finance from Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics and completed level III of the CFA programme in June 2014.

Rosário Pinto Correia

Member of the Board of Directors

Throughout her career, Rosário has held several executive positions at companies in the advertising and media sector (McCann – Erikson, Ogilvyone Portugal, Marie Claire Magazine Portugal), jewellery sector (Topázio), telecommunications sector (Correios de Portugal and several companies in the PT Group in Portugal, Macao and China) and consultancy sector (NNS and CEA / CLSBE). She currently holds positions in the statutory bodies of Fundistamo, Pharol SGPS and Experienced Management (CEO). Rosário has an MBA from the Wharton School and a masters in Company Management from Lisbon’s NOVA University, having completed a degree in Economics at Catholic University’s Lisbon School of Business and Economics. She has taught on undergraduate and masters degrees and executive education courses at the Lisbon School of Business and Economics for more than 40 years.

Virgílio Garcia, CFA

Partner / Investments and Trading

Virgílio has more than 29 years experience in financial markets, 26 of which entirely dedicated to asset management. He started working for BPI Gestão de Ativos in 1997, as a portfolio manager and later became Head of the equity team (2001-2017). He became an executive board member of the company in 2011 (until 2017). At the same time, he was also an executive board member at BPI Vida e Pensões SA (2011-2017). He has a degree in Economics from the Portuguese Catholic University (Lisbon), with two post-grads in Bank Management and in Derivatives. He attended the Stanford Executive Program (2010). In 2001, he successfully completed level III of the CFA Institute programme.
